Domestic Violence

What is Domestic Violence?

Domestic violence is when a person tries to dominate and control another.

Abusers would not only use physical violence, but also use fear, control, intimidation, shame, name calling, they might threaten to hurt you or your family members and those around you, they would control what you wear and who you meet, the amount of money you can have or are ‘allowed’ ... they may even stalk and harass you.

Domestic Violence does not discriminate. Anyone can be a victim. It can happen among heterosexual couples and same sex couples. It occurs at all ages and does not distinguish between economic income, race, colour, religion and ethnicity.

This project has been funded with support from the VO Fund within the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.
